Why families choose us

A school that expects every child to fly

We are a neighbourhood school with serious academic standards. Learners are known by name, taught by qualified CBC teachers, and supported long before a report card raises a concern.

1

Teaching built for the CBC

Lessons are planned around the competency-based curriculum: what a learner can do, not only what they can recall. Continuous assessment feeds directly into each term's report.

2

Classes small enough to notice

Teachers know each learner's strengths, gaps and circumstances. Reading support, remedial work and extension tasks are normal practice, not exceptions.

3

A settled home in boarding

Boarding learners have supervised prep, structured meals and a predictable routine, with house staff on hand through the week and at weekends.

4

Character alongside results

Honesty, respect, service and responsibility are taught and practised — in class, on the field and through clubs and community work.

The learning pathway

A learner can join us at PP1 and grow with the school all the way to Grade 9, with a shared approach across every level.

Life at school

More than the timetable

A child who finds something they love at school does better in class. Our week includes sport, music, drama, clubs and service — available to day and boarding learners alike.

  • Team sports, athletics and inter-house competition
  • Music, dance and drama performances each term
  • Clubs from debating and STEM to agriculture and art
  • Leadership roles and community service for the upper grades
  • Supervised prep and reading time every evening for boarders

We measure ourselves by what each learner can do when they leave us: read with understanding, reason clearly, work with others, and carry themselves with integrity.
